Heading to the game sunday and wanna bring my film camera. It says you can't bring a camera with lens over 6 inches but I don't believe it mentions anything about interchangeable lenses. I was going to bring my Nikon F3 with a 35mm lens and 105mm lens and overall it'll be under 6 inches, I'm just worried they won't allow it due to it being interchangeable

2022.01.28 19:49 lrampartl Your longshot or odd theories

I think we all have a few things we guess at in regards to theories or drawing conclusions. Here are a few:
- In Northern Exposure, one of David Chase's other shows, he surrounds Joel, the main character, with a collection of odd but somewhat one-dimensional characters. Maurice is the macho throwback to yesteryear's overly patriotic era, Ed is artistic and spiritual, and Chris is philosophical. Each of the supporting characters represents part of Joel. Likewise, in the Sopranos, the crew Tony surrounds himself with represents part of him; Paulie is the macho throwback, Chris represents youth and ambition, Bobby is his innocence, and so on. Why does this matter? Their individual arcs reflect Tony's path. Even Perry's brief tenure represents Tony's desire to appear strong to his crew after potentially looking weak in front of Phil.
- The interesting part is when Walden Belfiore just shows up as Tony tries to think about his life philosophically; Walden being one of Thoreau's books about transcendentalism. This represents the (possible) desire to look inward emerging. Instead of talking to his therapist, his wife, the crew, or trying to figure out life, Tony just goes off to Vegas and does Peyote to reach enlightenment.
- A lot of people felt like 'Chasin' It' was random in that all of a sudden Tony had a gambling problem. I think the key is that Tony has always been gambling, but he's always won. Now we see that he treats people around him as playing cards to be held or discarded; he held on to Tony B. for too long, and he lost. He held on to Christopher as long as he could. He ended up keeping Paulie.
- Bobby plays dumb to protect himself; he mentioned to Tony that his dad never wanted him to be a gangster. Bobby's more than happy to be an errand boy for Junior without getting his hands dirty - until Tony decides it's time. Oddly enough, their conversation on the lake reveals that Bobby is very aware of the risks of the lifestyle; their discussion is a far cry from 'Quasimodo'. To be clear, Bobby still does his best to retain his innocence - reflected by his toy train hobby.
- Watches seem significant - they're often given as gifts, or are seen as items of great luxury. "Every day is a gift," opines Tony. Time is precious, and if it can be bought and sold, what a commodity. Tony sends Carmela an engraved watch from Vegas, but only a "T" would fit - signifying that Carmela has more time left than he does.
- I think there's a lot to support the theory that Tony's time in the show after being shot by Junior is in a coma, even when he appears to wake up in the hospital. A few suggestions:

  1. Tony occasionally sees indicators of the devil, suggesting he's trapped on a path to hell. He sees the devil logo in the Vegas casino, sees John Wayne's 'Hellfighters' on TV, Kevin Finnerty is stuck on the 7th floor (7th level of hell) of the hotel with the elevator broken, and such.
  2. Carlo even tries to tell Tony about a Twilight Zone episode about a mobster trapped in a loop in hell, which Tony ignores. Indeed, Tony finds himself repeating scenarios prior to being shot (feud with Phil, Chris's relapse, AJ dropping out, etc.). Indeed, Tony's greatest fear, losing his family, seems to be repeated - he randomly sees AJ stuck in the pool, and saves his baby. He "protects" Meadow from a mobster's advances - the gangster is nicknamed "Coco". Note that it represents Tony protecting his kids from both the mob life, and from Coco people - or brown people, which he feels he had to do before (Noah, for reference).
  3. Tony has to continually "play" to win, but has to make sacrifices to keep playing. He enters a losing streak until he sacrifices Christopher, for example.
  4. Tony even hears the occasional odd sound - which he's become accustomed to. Note that Tony used to get furious about the kids playing loud music if it woke him up. In the episode where AJ tries to off himself, he plays 'Ridin' Dirty' loudly in the morning; Tony is awakened, but unbothered, used to the noise. A bell, randomly, in some cases, may reflect noise from outside his comatose state; the several bells in succession at Holsten's may indicate machines either failing - or being turned off, before everything goes black.

2022.01.28 19:49 CooperVsBob Pennyroyal Season 1 Synopsis: Created by a Fan

As a tribute to the incredible start of Pennyroyal season 2, I decided to sit down and do a deep dive into season 1 (since I kind of binge-rushed it the first time...it was all a haze...something about quartz and Spiro Agnew...).
I put it in linear outline format so I could actually see the dots connect, to best prepare for Season 2. Here it is for anyone who doesn't have the time to relisten to season 1 and wants to do a quick catch up (and for anyone who's just a Pennyroyal nerd like me).
Please feel free to call out any mistakes or oversights I may have made, and forgive any typos or formatting shenanigans.
Note: It was interesting to see patterns I might not have noticed without putting the content in a linear visual form. You can actually see it: just like Nathan says, the more their team looked at the Phenomenon, the more it responded.
Huge thanks to the Pennyroyal crew for all their hard work! You've really created something special.
-Art Robin
Pennyroyal Season 1 Episode 1: Killer Meteors

  1. Commemorating Alexander Guterma’s Mt Victory mine as the central point of the Pennyroyal mystery: installing the mirrored monument containing an AM-FM transmitter
  2. Podcast mission: to explore the relationship a place has with its inhabitants/explorers, and vice versa, and to investigate what “place” really is
  3. Introduces contextual Kentucky weirdness (caves, quartz, karst, Appalachia)
  4. Steven Snider: Shaver mysteries
  5. Tunnels beneath Somerset
  6. 1919 Lake Cumberland meteor
  7. 1876 meat shower
  8. Fortean frog falls near artist Dan Dutton’s property (Dandyland)
  9. Anecdote: New Years 2019 meteor shower in Somerset (Local subject: Brian)
Episode 2: Alien Space Bats
  1. Local stories/high strangeness/anecdotal sightings
  2. Adena & Hopewell Indian mounds in the Somerset area; open portals; black panther sightings; Kenneth Grant’s theory about Adena in KY
  3. International paranormal museum; MUFON registry
  4. Local eyewitness accounts of various phenomena
  5. The Kentucky Anomaly;
    1. NASA satellite data; geomagnetic spike activity across North America (Somerset);
    2. Kentucky Anomaly = geological/electromagnetic; piezoelectric effect in quartz/crystal;
    3. Is there a link between geological electromagnetic activity and psychosis/violence?
Episode 3: Dark and Bloody Ground
  1. Origins of Kentucky; native indigenous tribes
  2. History: legacy of violence and lawlessness in both Kentucky and Somerset
  3. Lester Burns; The Company; bluegrass mafia
  4. 1994: Linda Gibson and Cody Lee Garrett murdered in Somerset
  5. First-person account of child abduction/abuse
Episode 4: Elkhorn: Dan Dutton: background, projects, firsthand story from Elkhorn City/Appalachia (no spoilers 😎)
Episode 5: Green Men
  1. Greg Newkirk, Hellier recap and parallels
  2. The Finders cult FBI dossier (child abduction and abuse)
Episode 6: Mr. X
  1. Alexander Guterma overview;
    1. Purchased mining contracts in the '70s after a life of crime;
    2. Purchased Mt. Victory mine from Lester Burns
    3. Connections to mob family in Newport KY > Las Vegas > Desert Inn (Sinatra)
    4. CIA (funders trusted him with money)
    5. Gary Webb: KY journalist (Dark Alliance; The Killing Game); uncovered cia connection to cocaine trafficking/crack epidemic;
      1. Webb wrote about Guterma and his associates Sinclair Robinson and Peter Crosby
    6. Peter Crosby worked with Dino Cellini/Meyer Lansky/Joe Nesline; Brother James Crosby/Mary Carter Paint Company (CIA front to aid anti-Castro Cubans)
  2. Resorts International in Bahamas (Richard Nixon > William Hitchcock > Timothy Leary > Brotherhood of Eternal Love);
    1. Resorts international (run by James Crosby) had its own private intelligence company: Intertel, run by Pelequin (former head of treasury under RFK, who formerly went after mafia) and other ex FBI/federal employees/Army/Navy;
    2. In 1970 Intertel transported Howard Hughes out of his mansion and became his own private security
    3. Crosby sold resorts international to Donald Trump in 1980
    4. Crosby was also connected with Odo Scrizini, Hitler’s favorite commando; provided mercenaries in post war SS underground movement
  3. Researchers theorize that Guterma was German operative brought over by Dulles brothers in the 50s (Project Paperclip)
    1. Galen organization (Reinhard Galen, leader of Nazi intelligence front in WWII) brought numerous German intelligence operatives to US in post-war.
    2. Many of these German nationals were captured in the pacific theater, specifically in radio repair shops (they utilized as a means to transmit intelligence).
    3. This (radio repair shop in Pacific theater) is where Guterma was first detained by officials, although the files are classified
    4. His accent was far closer to German than Russian
  4. Inexplicably, myriad documentation starts emerging that Lester Burns’ business partner was Spiro Agnew, and a scandal erupted over the Mt Victory coal company which forced Agnew to get involved.
    1. Very suspicious that this research all emerged at once, whereas before, it was nowhere to be found.
  5. Clandestine funding: the Japanese allegedly stashed wartime loot in the Philippines (priceless golden statues from Koreas melted into gold bars)
    1. When Japan lost, US stumbled across this treasure trove.
    2. General McArthur’s spymaster led, alongside Edward Lansdale (former Nazi SS).
    3. This gold was used to fund undercover operations/terrorism for decades.
    4. Mark Lombardi, artist, revealed all of this via “Interlocks” in the '90s and was "suicided" shortly after.
    5. Possibility that Lester Burns and Spiro Agnew utilized this funding and laundered it via Mt Victory coal company
  6. Gemstone Files (Bruce Porter Roberts) name Guterma as a co conspirator in JFK assassination, specifically as associate of George Demornshield.
    1. Demornshield was friend of Lee Harvey Oswald, longest running testimony in the official investigation, and was called to re-testify in 1977 before a house committee upon reopening of the investigation.
    2. Demornshield killed himself the morning of the trial.
    3. The same week, Guterma flew from Boca Raton to NYC but diverted his flight to Somerset at the last minute
    4. Guterma then continued on, but crashed and died in Brooklyn. It is believed that he was going to be called to testify as well.
Episode 7: The Game
  1. Synchronicity storm
    1. Interview with Richard Spence who, when sent a question about Guterma, was amazed: he had just been researching a party that put Guterma in the same room as multiple relevant guests [Guterma > Lowell Burrell > Stewart B. Hopps > George Hunt Williamson > William Dudley Pelley].
    2. This is the perfect example of the kind of synchronicity storm that occurs when you dig in.
    3. Could there be an intelligence or intelligences interacting with this podcast investigation
  2. The Nine: organized by Andrija Puharich and Dr. D.G Vinod in 1950s.
    1. Bears remarkable resemblance to Son of the Sun (1947) published by Raymond Palmer in Fantastic Adventures (Shaver Mysteries).
    2. Two seances, the second one most famous.
    3. Nine entities made contact and said they were once the nine Egyptian deities, but had since transcended space and time.
    4. Wanted to guide human race and save it.
  3. Oakwood mental health facility: Somerset, KY.
    1. Experimental facility built in 1973.
    2. Designed with intentional symbology and color patterns.
    3. Closed after six months due to pagan activities performed by the staff, involving patients, plus the death of a patient
  4. Marco Visconti: Pan has two identities, young Oak King vs old Holy King
    1. They battle throughout the wheel of the year as a way to constantly regenerate
    2. This syncs with Oakwood facility, Dan Dutton's project, Hellier's Night of Pan
  5. Dan Dutton’s firsthand account of his trip to Oakwood as a teenager
Episode 8: Time and Place
  1. Richard Spence: this phenomenon happens everywhere. It’s part of how the world functions.
  2. Thoughts on interconnectivity of all the clues.
    1. Thoughts on tricksters, con artists, and secret societies manipulating the effects of phenomena.
    2. How the era of fake news primed our culture for a magickal reawakening.
  3. Somerset conspiracies reminiscent of James Shelby Downer’s killing of the king ritual? (Not conspiracy theories, but the objective involvement of a particular “group” behind the scenes)
  4. Richard Spence: The most common theme in all my research is pathological lying.
    1. In all historical records, there is a mixture of truth and lying. It’s probably impossible to ever separate them.
    2. Most groups or figures are manipulating people through doubt and/or fear.
    3. Magick/paranormal doesn’t have to exist for it to be effective.
    4. What do all esoteric organizations have in common? A promise to provide illumination and understanding of the Other.
  5. Theories on cosmology/consciousness: there has to be some unifying force behind all of the Somerset phenomena.
  6. Marco Visconti: There are otherworldly entities behind all of this.
    1. The magic was set in motion long ago and is an ongoing process.
    2. Humanity has always been interacting with these entities.
  7. Stephen Snyder: Cybernetics
    1. Macy’s conferences in 1940s-1960s
      1. Led to all the tech that has redefined our world today (computers, rockets etc).
      2. Features Warren McCulloch (had influenced Puharich).
      3. Conferences covered systems and how to influence systems.
      4. Norbert Wiener > Vannevar Bush (majorly contributed to development of personal computers; linked to Majestic 12 conspiracy).
      5. Influenced AI, behavior modification, social control
  8. Second-order cybernetics: the observer observes an event/data, then the system observes the observer, causing feedback loop(s) = definition of synchronicity/Hellier/Pennyroyal.
    1. WE are responsible for the phenomenon.
    2. The “Second-order cybernetic system” got bigger with each viewer.
    3. Alternate definition: egregore.
  9. Thesis: when you look at something, it looks back at you.
    1. It is interactive.
    2. Amoral, but based on a current or flow you benefit from by accepting.
  10. Speculation into how this concept relates to Somerset specifically, and how Pennyroyal podcast has contributed to it.
  11. Full circle back to the mirrored monument placed at the Guterma mine in Mt. Victory
